Thomas Luke Danher Family - Our Australians.

Thomas Luke Danher and His Son Thomas David Danher

This load of pages are from my great great Uncle Tom's biography/memoirs and talks about his line and how they came to Canada and returned back to UK on the condition that my great grand dad his brother John Walter Danher replace in Canada for his job vacancy, for which my great granddad did, and then soon became the Meterman... It is a great read, this story of Thomas Luke and son as all their descendants are now in Australia and vibrant. There only 8 pages of the 30 here because he wrote a book on his life in Canada, Liverpool and Australia, it was very well done, interesting read.

98 Aigburth Road, Danher Chandler Shop location, Aigburth Liverpool

98 Aigburth Road, Aigburth, John and Jane Danher's Chandler Shop.

These photos are of Aigburth Road in 1930-40's and show how the road was spared the bombings of Liverpool.  Top photo shows one end with cobbles and lower picture shows the other end , it is this end that the shop was located coming into the centre of Liverpool. In fact, I am sure there is a Shell station there now on the left of the lower photo and John and Jane's shop was just across the road out of the photo but similar to the corner shop with the sign above the door.

58 Leasowe Road Wallasey Wirral Liverpool Uk..

58 Leasowe Road, 1912, map 1898

This was the last recorded address of our Danhers , John and Jane. John died in 1917 of Colon Cancer, and Jane died in 1920 of an heart problem. They lived at different houses on Leasowe road, because John and his son in laws and sons built a bank or row of homes right on the street. They are still there and they are the next block of homes from the railway bridge coming in to Wallasey village on the north side. On this map in 1898 it would be lot 233.. John Danher and Owen Griffith his builder were the two main workers on this site and interestly Owen Griffith married John's 4th child Eliza Ellen Danher and then emigrated to Manitoba Canada. We knew them here in Toronto.  John and Jane Danher had a Chandler Shop on Aigburth Road in Aigburth for several years and then moved to Wallasey after the shop was sold.

The Seaside with Elvis

James Paul McCartney and Betty Danher-Robbins with Ted
Love this photo here, it is the double back connection to the Danhers for which our famous cousin has with all his Danhers. In the photo on the left is my mom's 2nd cousin Elizabeth 'Bett' Danher daughter of Albert George Danher and Annie McCartney,, she had one brother , Albert Edward Danher who was the Crossword Compiler to the 5 top newspapers in UK and she is also with her Uncle outside the photo James McCartney Snr.  She is with her 1st cousin Sir Paul McCartney post Beatles at the seaside and also with them is her first born son and only son Ted Robbins, she would go on to have 4 more girls , Kate, Amy, Emma and Jane. This photo is interesting because it would be taken around the time I was born in 1962 and growing up with Macca in the family I remember me mom wanting always to go to UK to meet Bett and she was never able to because my mom was having her large family too.. but its ok they are together now and what I like about this pic most is that Bett looks exactly like my mom in this pic. The second thing is the photo of Paul's Elvis Hairdo... lol....

The Danher Legacies.

The Danhers

When looking at these pics they tell the story of the Danher family and its time... bottom photo was taken for the event of the invention of the meter, my great granddad John Walter Danher invented it in 1912, this photo was taken by him on his camera with his family present to celebrate... his mom and dad in centre left, his wife with face off, left... she had phobias.. and my grandmother Eileen sitting with ribbon in hair..older girl.. but the pic was done to signify the invention of the meter to the world. My great granddad John Walter Danher is in the picture above it... his invention pic.    He came to Canada to replace his younger brother in the company for Gas and Electrics and then invented the meter in Montreal Canada. Above my great granddads photo you will see the census record of 1891 in Liverpool UK... shows the family all there , except John and Thomas... they were starting their families... next picture is my great grandparents John Walter and Mary Anne Danher with family at the beach on Lake Ontario in Toronto Canada, where we are located now. The Rest of the Danhers scattered around the world but mainly in UK. The next picture above that is Thomas Danher and his second wife Anne... Thomas went back to UK got married again and emigated to Australia, as my great granddad replaced in the Job in Canada. The Top photo is a interesting picture... it is the reason for why our family  the Danhers became famous a second time around , you see my great granddad made our family famous 50 years before his great nephew , my cousin, him called one Sir McCartney came alone in 1940's and made our family famous again the second time around.... in that photo at the top is my great uncle Harry with the Hat on... playing cards with his son Albert Danher and the chap on the right is one James McCartney, Sir Paul's dad , they were playing cards  in the backyard of the house that Sir Paul's mother was born off longmoor Lane in Roby Liverpool. This was really the start of our greatest family connection to the Danher - McCartney legacy.
